THE DOUBLE TAKE
You need to look twice to catch the details of what is going on with this custom build. Primarily a six-string bass, the first unique detail is the set of octave strings added only to the top three strings. This was a situation that required the fabrication of a custom bridge plate to hold the different sets of bridge saddles. The next unique feature is the separation of the sets of pickups. The bottom three strings utilize two halves of a Will Power P pickup to create a short neck and bridge set, while the top six strings use three strat pickups for a wide range of tones. These signals can be run independently through dual outputs, or ganged together for one signal. This is a perfect example of a concept that leads a player to getting a custom instrument made.
The body features a beautiful maple burl top that is enhanced with a translucent green urethane finish.
