BLOSSOM BASS

cb3.jpg

This bass features one of my favorite inlays to date. The cherry blossom has long been a revered subject in the world of art. Both a symbolic celebration of the beginning of spring, and a stunning sight to behold in real life. I tried to capture as much realism as I could with the inlay materials I selected. The branches are morado, the leaves are leopard stone, and the blossoms are pink snail shell and coral. The blossoms are engraved and filled with black ink to create the stamen that are the focal point of the blossoms. The bass is elegantly appointed with a quilted maple top and hard ash neck-thru. The bridge and tuners are made by Schaller, and feature an aged copper finish that matches beautifully with the tones of the inlay.
